   DISCIPLE FAMILIES ROCK!  

Bethany ’s vacation Bible school has a new look this summer, and it’s guaranteed to please!  Everyone in our church family (young, old, single, married, short, tall) are warmly invited to enjoy four evenings filled with food, music, fellowship, and learning about our Disciple roots.  So, mark your calendars with these important times and dates:  

Thursday, August 2 ~ 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Thursday, August 9 ~ 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Don’t miss out on our “back to school” day at Bethany !

Sunday, August 22  

During worship, our school teachers and administrators will receive a special blessing, and we will challenge and pray over our students.  Our August fellowship luncheon has been moved to August 22, so bring your favorite covered dish to share (fried chicken provided) and your school annuals and diplomas to share around the tables.   Still have that school letter or cheerleading outfit?  Bring it…or wear it (if you      can J).  And yes, the GIANT WATERSLIDE will be here, so don’t forget the bathing suits!

MONTHLY FOOD DONATIONS FOR TALBOT HOUSE  

The folks at Talbot House have requested “powdered Gatorade” that can be added to water for a refreshing drink for the homeless that are on their property during the heat of the day.  Will you bring powdered drink mixes to worship on August 1^st?

THE BETHANY BOOK CLUB will not meet during the summer, but will resume on Saturday, August 28th at 12:00 noon at the home of Ruth Miller to discuss the book "Home" by Marrlynne Robinson.

Have you remembered…

That on the first Sunday of each month, when we come forward for communion, our pastor and two elders will be available for private, personal prayer.  If you would like a special prayer for yourself or someone you care about, just take a seat by one of them after you have communion.
